Consensus means you have a group who agree with each other but that is not science. Science needs one person who can prove something by reproducing the same results. Consensus in politics there is a good example the UN and 17 US intelligent agencies said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. How did that work out? The reason they use the idea of consensus is to make it impossible to rebut. Like it is settled science but science is never settled. At one time it was settled science that the sun rotated around the earth.
