Republicans are making much about this Democrat Potluck that they are advertising, particularly the part that reads: Bring whatever your heart desires, as long as it's veggie (no meat or shellfish) The percentage of vegetarians in Portland, Maine's most liberal city, is thought to be very low, and Republicans are playing on the theme that whatever Democrats don't like, they are going to make illegal. And no shellfish? Maine is known for its lobster and shrimp.
I'm a registered Republican. It seems foolish to me that the Republicans would focus on this instead of the issues facing our nation. IMO the party is it's own worst enemy.
The Republican Party isn't doing it. Republicans are, and Republicans are people who recognize humor when they see it. It's not like I'm going to live my life for the Party, anyhow. Unless they are paid to that, I wouldn't expect anyone else to either.
