Just another way to get participation trophies.
Just another way to negate real accomplishments...like redistributing the income of high achievers so as to stifle incentives.
...as though she paid for them herself.
I don't get the problem. If a movie calls for an actorof a certain persuasion, then use that actor. I highly doubt that there is much racism that goes into awards voting. Good acting is good acting. Movies and actors, are dependent upon marketing. I have seen great movies that did not get so much as a nod from the award committees, so any great performances by any actor would go unheralded jut due to the medium.
This to me is a first world problem that IMHO doesn't rate a lot of concern!
I'm still being chagrined that I posted something that says "a Oscar." They are going to revoke my Grammar Nazi badge.
It just hearkens back to "affirmative action," IMO. Not considering the actual talent; just indiscriminately awarding minority status.
And I agree that any awards show for overblown egos is the least of my worries these days.
It's "uh Oscar."
Looks like that systemic racism we've be hearing about.
No sense of universality any more, is there?
