My daughter uses Instacart, and she likes it. When we went to Seattle on the trip for my Great-granddaughter’s first birthday last November, we stayed in one of those airbnb’s, and actually ordered most of the food we ate through instacart. We had a whole little apartment, so it was easy to use the kitchen for making sandwiches, or breakfast meals, and the food delivery service saved making a trip through an area we weren’t familiar with in search of a supermarket. It is not something that we are apt to use here, since we live close to shopping, and both Bobby and I enjoy getting out and going somewhere, especially now that we can’t go to the fitness center until things open back up again.
I have used instacart a few times now. Works fine and quite efficient. They have "real time" shoppers, so if the store is out of something they will text you to see if an alternative will be ok.
We have not been all the way out to Sam’s Club for several months now (last summer probably ?), although I have ordered items that can be shipped from Sam’s. Since my daughter added me on to her Instacart account, we decided to try ordering from Sam’s, with delivery, so I can get some of the fresh foods that can’t be shipped. It is supposed to be here in about 2 hours, so we will see how that goes. Edit to add: It arrived very fast, the lady who brought it was very nice, and did a super job of finding everything for us. As always, the produce from Sam’s is fresh and delicious, and we will probably do this more often.
I've used instacart and shipt during the peak of the pandemic. It's a little pricey but we were able to stay home self quarantine. I've used them about 20 times between the two of them only had one problem one shopper didn't know how to package groceries. He should have packaged the chicken separately an individual bag however he didn't protect the other Foods from the chicken and it leaked over everything in the bag with it he did the same thing with the meats. I've had some exceptional shoppers that would text me with pictures for substitutes, really work out well.
For some reason, not all of the foods that were available at Sam’s Club, were on the Instacart app. Bobby loves the Amish blue cheese crumbles from Sam’s, but all they showed on the app was a chunky blue cheese dip, so we ordered that instead. When the shopper said they were out of the dip, I looked on the Sam’s app and it showed the blue cheese crumbles as in stock, so I texted her a picture and asked if she could bring that instead. She found it, and so Bobby has his blue cheese now, but I do not understand why I could not order this from the Instacart app, even though it was in stock at Sam’s Club.
