    they did away with the hook on speakers and went to sending a signal to the car radio

    Yep, those speakers were for the most part all lousy. :)

    I don't remember going to the drive in as a teen but do remember going as a young mom. We could take my sleeping daughter and put her in her car bed in the back seat and we could enjoy a night out at the movies.

    It was great since I didn't trust babysitters with my children.

    Car radio is fine, IF the car radio worked. Not to change the Thread, but there are houses with very large Halloween and Christmas displays that the music is broadcast thru vehicle radio's. Pretty neat way to listen.
