    Our funnies came on Sunday, in the Chicago Tribune. Much more content than I see today, in local paper, though. If I call out characters, exclamations, or other remembered but nt understood content, please remember I was a small kid, remembering all, understanding little. I've left out the Disney stuff, among my favorites, though. In my mind, I picture the images of characters looking villainous, stupid, happy-go-lucky, political, neighborhood types, all imbedded in the mind of a child, forever.

    I always liked Rube Goldberg and his amazing contraptions.

    @Beatrice Taylor
    Ah, so, do you remember personally these ditties? Gasoline Alley was one of the first I perused on Sunday morning. I was always encouraged by my folks to read as much as possible. (maybe until my Mother caught me reading her "Peyton Place", a bit shy of puberty!).

    Dagwood & Blondie were a must. Now, who was the "Great Gildersleave"? Any recollection? I seem to remember a deep, raucous voice.....maybe on radio. A "golden sleave"............
