New Lockheed C-130 LM100J, flown by Chief Test Pilot for Lockheed, enormous aircraft, has propellors (!) undoubtedly a turbo-jet engine with props, it looks 100 years old, squared-off control surfaces, no swept back wings, but look what it can do! If bored, please watch first 3 minutes! Entire story here: http://www.businessinsider.com/incr...rting-at-air-show-2018-7?yptr=yahoo&r=UK&IR=T
I hate air shows. At least I hate close formation flying. Have ever since two Italian planes crashed during an airshow years ago. Close formation makes me extremely nervous. I don't see the need for it. Wonder why the US air force participates.
Ah yes Farnborough air show and Duxford which is close to my home... we love the airshows, but yes unfortunately there's been several disasters in recent years at both airfields..
Thanks for posting that @Frank Sanoica ! I didn't know they were doing a souped up Hercules. We used to have the Hercs fly over on a daily basis here, but they have switched them out for C-141s now and the C-130s have gone to the National Guard and Coast Guard. We are in the flight path between Eielson and Elmendorf, so we see all kinds of stuff fly over.
