I, on the other hand, do like it and do roll it after I check the dates and mint marks. In the last year or so I have saved a few hundred dollars in change and it’s all rolled and in a basket. :)

When my ex lived here , he would roll them but I just don't have the patience for that.

Eventually I'll find a machine that you can just pour it in even if it does take a cut.

I used to have a bank that did it for free but that was long ago ....wonder why they don't do that now...at least for their customers?

I always pick a penny up... and yes I too end up with lots of change in my bag after shopping, it's a pain to have to bag 'em up..and even more of a pain that the bank limits the amount you can deposit in your account to just 5 bags ..regardless as to whether it's copper or silver, so I usually end up with bags and bags of change before I eventually start taking them to the bank!!..as the bank is not near my home it means lots of separate journeys... but I refuse to put change into a change machine in the supermarket..that's daylight robbery.

My bank doesn't do that...at least that's what I thought...I'll have to double check ....if they do, I'll start picking up pennies. :)

If you have a few coins in the bottom of your purse go to the park and take a seat on a bench, toss out a few coins and watch the expressions of the people that find them.

Personally, it's all money and I treat the pennies with the same respect that I treat the dollars.

It is all Money that's why I donate it at cash registers...usually it's for Helping Paws or something similar.

I honestly couldn't see myself throwing coins on the ground in a park here....I think people would look at me strangely.

It's absolutely no use to anyone sitting in jars in my house....at least it's getting to someone at the cash register.

Yeah, @Chrissy Cross, I have wondered why the banks don't do that any more too. You could find a machine that takes a cut for a charity, buy a small machine that separates and rolls it...or put it in the collection plates if you decide to return turn a church. I think many thrift stores will take it as a donation as well.

We throw all change in here...when full I dump in a Brinks lock box...the cash it in at bank or a kiosk some where. Has saved us many times.

Do you have to be a BOA member?

I'm not...I used to be when my ex had an acct there..he put me on it but I never used it and he left anyway.

Maybe Chase does it also..will ask.

I have change all over the house...a project in itself...won't need to rent a truck or dolly to haul it though.

The good news is that it's mostly bigger coins...not much pennies.
