That is some serious flooding, @Louise Williams. I just hope y'all don't get any more rain any time soon.

No kidding... Talk about some very serious water problems...
This spring we are getting ready for floods, as the snow melts and the ground is frozen which means it can't absorb the water, so it stays on the surface and keeps on melting causing more floods.....

Sorry about all that flooding Louise, I hope it's not affecting you or your family in any way....

We've had some really beautiful weather the whole of February although they're forecasting some showers for tomorrow which will be the first in weeks...

here's some photos I took yesterday in my area ... it was 70 deg

OTOH....look what my daughter found in her garden the other day.... it's a horsehoe whipsnake, relatively harmless, but I still wouldn't want to meet that in the dark *yikes* snakeatdons.jpg

A snake like that would make me run the mile in about 10 seconds if not faster..
Looks like it is just enjoying the sun and warmth..

That's a lot of snake, Holly. It looks like it just fed. Nice picture.

I love your bridge picture. It makes me wonder what's on the other side. I see the buttercups are blooming there. They are here, too.

Do y'all remember a member named Joyce Lang who played a few of the word games here? She and I are friends from years ago. I haven't been able to contact her since before Christmas. I'm afraid she is extremely sick or passed away. She said that she had asked her son to email me in case something happened to her but I haven't heard from him. He may have forgotten. She is the one who had eye problems and that's why I sometimes posted in bold, enlarged letters. So I guess I won't need to do that anymore. I am sad.

They're not buttercups Shirley, they're daffs... ..one side of the bridge is the house, (where you can see my car)..and the other side is a small field (I was standing with my back to the field)..

I'm absolutely shocked at your thoughts about @Joyce Lang , I was just thinking of her the other day, she didn't post much but she was a nice lady.. I do hope that in this instance your fears aren't realised and she's just poorly, and will return ... it will be too sad if she's passed.. :(

I went to see my doctor complaining of a nagging cold and cough I have for the past week or so..
He sent me for a chest X-Ray and then gave me the good news.. I don't have a cold, I have PNEUMONIA …………. I am on antibiotics for the next 7 days.
Amoxicillin 500mg 2 pills three times a day (every 8 hours) which is 3000mg daily...

Oh no, you're kidding me Steve..Pneumonia?..wow!! you take it very easy and rest as much as you can... (I've had pneumonia twice I hope I never get it again)...

Incidentally it must be a day for illnesses..I was told by my physiotherapist today that my kneecap has come out of the socket ( that would explain the excruciating pain I've had for weeks )... thank goodness I changed to him from the female one I had, who seemed to be totally inept.

Anyway, I'm being sent to the best Hospital in Harley street so that I can get seen ASAP. ( costs hard cash, but it's worth it).. rather than have to wait for weeks for an X-ray through the NHS ....and that way the PT will have a CD copy of the X-Ray and see exactly how much damage has been done!!

be well steve, hope you can breathe without too much pain!!

I'm sorry to hear that, Steve. I hope the antibiotics clear it up quickly. BTW, get some yogurt or kefir that have probiotics in it. I'm sure you already know this but the antibiotics kill your good bacteria as well as the bad. You can buy probiotic capsules but I prefer to get them in yogurt or kefir.

Holly, what is the treatment for that? I hope you get some relief real soon.

    Louise, thank you.

Thanks and I definitely am taking some yogurt daily otherwise diarrhea will set in and awfully quick..

Holly... what in Heavens name would cause a knee cap to come out ??? Again here's hoping they can fix that ASAP once and for all..
Weeks for an X-Ray?? That sounds inhuman considering it only takes a few minutes for the X-Ray... In your case it is priority..

    Any news on Joyce ???

I have no idea Steve why the kneecap has moved ( Not actually come out)... but it's aligned wrongly , pointing North East instead of straight ahead... . Yes the waiting times here for X-rays are horrendous, then a minimum of 2 weeks for the results.

I had an MRI scan on my lower back a week or so ago, I have another week to wait for the results of that.. but by paying for the X-rays I don't have to wait , and I can get the results immediately on CD.. for viewing by my PT.. ( I don't use the National health PT, because it's hopeless..appointments for 15 minutes every few months)... so I pay for a ''private'' physio...

To further compound this issue with regard to my knee, a simple X-ray won't do on it's own..he needs what they call a Skyline X ray as well, which is means jumping through hoops on the NHS to get.. it needs a Doctor to request a Consultant appointment ( an easy 6 month wait)..then the consultant to agree the Skyline X-ray is required..another wait and so on ad infinitum...so you can see why I felt it imperfective to pay go down the Private payment route..

Shirley, the treatment as far as I can tell at this early stage is PT.. but I won't know until we see the extent of the damage...

Wow... I better shut up about our health system here in Canada..
An X-Ray was ordered at 2:00pm and by 3:00pm I was home with the X-Ray done and read by the doctor.. The chemist already received a fax for the pills and they were ready as I went there..
When I needed a hip or shoulder replacement, from the time of the first visit to the specialist, within 3 months I was home with it done...
All this for absolutely not a single penny in cost.... including the prescription...
