Well, the holidays are over... Now, back to our routine of normal living.. No more heavy meals that bloat us up.... Lets all try to make time for ourselves.. If you don't make time to keep yourself good and healthy, you will make time when you are sick to take care of yourself..
I did something yesterday that I rarely do. I took an afternoon nap. I was dragging all day, totally no energy. I think it must have been the letdown from all the work, hustle and bustle of the holidays. So Miki and I got in my recliner, leaned back and took a good long nap. I feel fine today. Ready for the new year.
Shirley... Looks like you slept all your evil spirits away.... good for you.. Bet you will do that again.... Why not ??? I often do that in the evenings... Well, so far this winter it has been like a yoyo.. Very cold for a while and then very hot for a while.. The problem is, we haven't had enough snow yet.. We could use another 2 feet of snow in order to have the winter activities well on their way.. The lakes are frozen with at least 24 inches of ice, which is good.. However, when it gets warm, the top of the ice is covered with water from the melted surface.. Still very safe to go on, but in the water, it isn't fun.. Snowmobiles don't like that... Ice fishing is well on the way with hundreds of huts along the lakes..
I have those days sometimes too Shirley.. one hour nap and boom! , im fine and dandy ready to get something done..Surely, Shirley, its not a symptom from old age!!!!!!
If I take a nap later than 4pm, I'm up for the rest of the night, probably for another 12 hours after I wake.
I used to take a nap almost every afternoon. I would have a sugary snack then a half hour later, I would be so sleepy that I had to have a nap. Since I have been eating low carb, I don't need an afternoon nap. That has been about a year and a half. Sugar makes you sleepy. I don't have trouble sleeping at night. I'm lucky that way. I go to bed around 10:30 - 11:00 and go to sleep almost instantly. Some time I have to get up and go potty but I go back to sleep as soon as I get back in bed.
I just spoke to my brother-in-law who lives in Brisbane, Australia.. He claims it has been raining on and off for a while.. They are perfectly safe from the fires..... but .... the air is something else.. Heavy at times.. They are in absolutely no danger at all.... Good to know as my wife was concerned about her sister and her family...
I will be away for a few days starting very early on Wednesday morning till late on Thursday evening.. Nothing urgent, but my wife Annmarie has an appointment in Sudbury, on Thursday morning at 10:00am with her urologist for ladies indoor plumbing problems.. Sudbury is about a 90 minute drive from our house under normal conditions, but being winter, I don't like to take a chance with the weather.. We will go the day before, sleep over, have a good breakfast in the hotel, and get to the appointment rested with no pressure.. Otherwise we get up at 6:00am which is ridiculous.. Besides the Ontario government pays us a travel grant to see a specialist that isn't in our village.. They will be paying us $55.00 for the trip which will help pay the hotel bill.. Being in Sudbury the day before will allow us to do some shopping for items we can't get here in Massey, go to Wallmart, (I have a list for there), have a nice supper out, and make it like a mini vacation, if only a short one.. We always take our dog with us.. It is a 6 pound Pomeranian that NEVER barks unless there is a reason.. Excellent traveller..
