G'day all. Have missed you on the story Shirley. This bloody virus just wont go away. More cases in our two biggest states. My Bonnie has had gastro probs..vet says likely Bonnie has injested some foreign matter and got food poisoning.
Hi, everybody! Look what I've been doing today... singing "I found my thrill on blueberry hill" all the while.
Shirley.... I will take a photo of the garden over the week-end and post it.. My tomatoes are doing excellent.. Almost everyday, I get lettuce from the garden for a fresh salad.. Radishes (which I don't like or eat) are ready but I will leave them there and eventually throw them out... Onions seem almost ready.. Carrots still must grow.. The rest is doing fine but must keep on growing.. Those blueberries are awesome.. Enjoy while you can ...
I love blueberries @Shirley Martin I tried to grow a bush ,for a while I had it in pot and it grew ok but the birds ate the little fruit it produced which was about a cup full ..so I put it the ground and it died ..think they like an acidic soil . I buy frozen BB cook them with a little sugar, Cool then blend in NutriBullet ... you end up with a paste type texture which I put into small containers and freeze ..rather than buying high sugar fruit yoghurt I make me own BB syrupy / pasty type of topping yum yum ..
I use frozen blueberries, frozen with heavy cream.. The frozen fruit freezes the cream and you have like a blueberry ice-cream...
those are some beautiful blueberries Shirley .. when we lived in Maine, we had blueberry bushes too, they freeze real good too,, blueberry pie !! Yum Yum!!
I freeze excess blue and blackberries in the growing months then thaw them in winter and have them with other fruits for a yummy fruit salad. I did ask wifey to make me a berry pie but still waiting. So I said i'll make my own. Still waiting on that too.
No, I never put any kind of poison on them. They are purely organic. I eat a bunch of them while I'm picking. My son said, 'Bird poop and all." I told him, "Yes, what's a little bird poop between friends?"
