After my TIA deal, it left me with some damage to my right eye. I don't mind keeping my house darker or wearing dark glasses outside (looking all Hollywood). But, the problem was being online or watching TV. After 30 minutes, my eyeball would actually ache. I wear reading glasses, so sun glasses didn't work. My grandson suggested Gamer Glasses. You can buy them at Amazon for less than $10. They filter out the blue rays or light from the screens we use without being too dark. I ordered them in my reading glass strength and got them delivered today. They are GREAT. Came with a nice zipper case as well. So, if you sometimes feel like your eyes are straining, especially when online for longer periods of time, these glasses are an excellent choice. I didn't even know there was such a thing, so I thought I would share the info. I can even be inside now and open my blinds once the sun is out. I'm really happy about buying them.
My iPad and Kindle both have a blue light filtering option. I have mine set with the dusk to dawn setting , so it automatically changes it at sundown. You can really see the difference !
My laptop also has the blue light filter, but I don't like it so I turned it off. I might try the glasses, though. Thanks @Bess Barber.
For me it wasn't just the electronics. I couldn't even keep my blinds cracked beyond 10 a.m. Then again, I do live in Florida and it's August.
I'm sure you could buy the flip over shades, but these are the full glasses. You can order them with whatever regular reading glass strength you use. They aren't dark. I can even wear them with my art lamp on while I draw.
