    Since they began labeling, I have become amazed, maybe even astounded, by the sources of our foods for sale here. While we know everything imaginable is being imported from China, more simple foodstuffs come to light:

    I always check our Kroger's surplus produce rack. These big peppers I picked up for 99 cents. 4 for a buck! Nothing at all wrong with them, not soft or cracked or leaking juice. Close inspection reveals: the green ones are product of U.S.A. The red one, Canada, the orange one, Netherlands!

    Netherlands? How in the world can it be economically-viable to transport PEPPERS half way around the world, timely delivery with minimal transport time, store-deliver, then display, at cost competitive to simply just growing them here? Mind boggling.
