I have been lucky enough to eat in hundred...probably thousands of restaurants in many countries including my own.. and some were stunningly beautiful, . However, when I lived in Italy I wish I'd known about this in Apulia in the south ... how gloriously gorgeous is that?
Definitely not as uniquely situated as the O.P. but a favorite restaurant of ours that just got too expensive over the years fits the thread for me. For years, the family worked out of a VFW hall. They decided to build their own stand alone place and just completely pulled out all the stops. We just recently got a new heat pump system and the HVAC dealer gave us a $100 gift certificate for there. That will offset things enough to make it well worthwhile to visit again. Right here in little old Frederick, MD. Clicking on the dining tab will let you see the various dining rooms and the dungeon. Just the wood trim work in this place must have cost them a fortune. https://www.dutchsdaughter.com/
