Hello there everyone. Greetings from hot and sunny U.K. I found this forum on Google and thought it looked interesting, particularly the range of topics and the practice of using 'real' names.....more friendly-like. I wonder how many other U.K. members there are here . Quite a few probably. I am a Northerner, from the border country in Cumbria, very near the border with Scotland. However I have lived in the south for most of my life, and my husband was a Surrey boy. I was a teacher and I had many happy years' leading walks and exploring the countryside mostly in the Cotswolds or in Sussex. Now my main interest is my garden, and reading lots of books. I am blessed with two children and two grandchildren. I look forward to reading the threads and to making a contribution. My I Pad is a great help during this weird time of Lockdown.
Welcome to th forum, @Margaret Holloway ! We do have several people here from the UK, some from Canada, Australia, Germany, and even the Dominican Republic, as well as a fair representative bunch from the United States. I love my iPad, too; so I can understand how much you love yours. The iPad is a wonderful invention ! I am a greeter here, so if you have questions, you can either ask in the help section, or send me a private message. If you tap on your name at the top of the page, a little box will open up, and it has options for various preferences, as well as uploading an avatar. You may use a picture of yourself, or of something else, whichever you prefer, and change it as often as you feel like.
Greetings and a “tip-o-the- hat to you Margaret ! Yes, we do indeed have 2 or 3 folks from the UK and a couple from Aussie land and one from Germany. All and all, we’re a pretty fair group so I think you will enjoy yourself here. Oh yeah, the coffee pot is on the fritz which is okay since this derned Covid-19 put the break room off limits but you’re free to roam around everywhere else with or without your mask on.
I can’t fix that, but @Ken Anderson can do it. Just go ahead and put it on upside down, and he will make it right side up for you. He has to do this for someone every so often, so it is not uncommon. It might be that if you make the picture smaller it would work right side up ? When I choose a photo from my photo stream, it gives me a choice at the bottom for the size. I usually use medium for picture I post on the forum, and small for when I change my avatar.
@Margaret Holloway .......Welcome from the big state of Texas! Me and hubby watch more British tv than American tv. Also my DNA heritage is from Scottland Ireland and other parts of Europe.
