I have a slot to pick up groceries at noon Monday. Can't believe I ordered so much. $221 dollars is more than double what I usually spend and still no flour or TP. No paper products at all. And no alcohol. I'm sure some of what I ordered will be out of stock too by Monday
We've had toilet paper here for a while now. although it tends to sell out before noon. Neighborhood groceries usually have it, I guess because the hoarders don't think of going there.
It really makes a difference when a person shops. As seniors, we had stopped doing the “weekend specials” shopping some time ago, and look for the markdown bargains that happen during the week, and miss the weekend shoppers. The first week of the month is always busy, too, because of people getting SS checks, welfare checks, food stamps, and WIC coupons. The stores are mostly stocking at night, so getting there first thing in the morning helps because the hoarders have not yet stripped the shelves. Most stores seem to be limiting how much a person can buy of things like TP and hand sanitizer, and the other things that are being sold out all of the time. We order online from Amazon , Sam’s Club, and sometimes Walmart, and mostly just do a quick store run for the fresh produce. So far, so good. I am concerned though, because some people are reporting that stores won’t let you in without a face mask. They are not doing that here, but I think that face masks is one of the hoarded items, so there might not be any, and even if there were some available, it doesn’t do any good if they won’t let you in the store to buy one. I am really hoping that they start opening things back up again soon !
I keep seeing people saying ss checks around the first of the month. my wife and I both get them on the closest Wednesday to our birthdays.
