I would like to know what you think about this film and would appreciate all comments. It's a long three hour movie and I watched it on NETFLIX
The long version is one of my favorite movies. I had to watch it twice to understand what was going on. The flashbacks were confusing the first time.
I started to watch it but somehow it didn't catch my interest. Maybe I will give it another try depending on the reviews posted on this thread. The idea of real-life people being also fairy tale characters caught my interest, but somehow I found watching it less interesting. That was all 10 years ago.
Like you, it wasn’t my cuppa. DeNiro and James Woods are great actors but if a movie, any movie can’t catch my interest in a matter of fifteen / twenty minutes I’m gone. It’s a matter of whether a movie is worth cooking popcorn.
You mean the (long version) opening scene, with the opium den, dead bodies, and the telephone ringing 24 times, didn't grab your attention? Tsk, tsk, tsk.
