The world's largest species of Cat is the Siberian Tiger, which can weigh up to 800 pounds.

The largest African Lion can weigh up to 550 pounds.

Siberian Tiger has a strong jaw and bite force at 1050 pounds per square inch (psi), and is almost twice as strong as a lion.
Interestingly, the spotted hyena has a bite force a slightly larger than the tiger at 1100 psi, so the hyena is nothing to sneeze at.

Unlike lions, the tiger is a solitary animal. He lives and hunts alone except during mating season. The agility along with strong bite force let tigers take down any large prey alone.

Siberian tigers live predominantly in Russia's birch forests but are also found in China and North Korea. Their habitat ranges from Siberia to the forests of the Amur Basin. According to National Geographic, there were only 400 to 500 Siberian tigers living in the wild in 2010.Sep 26, 2017

For the technically-minded, it should be explained that bite force and bite stress are not the same thing. A human's eyetooth can easily exceed 1000 psi (pounds per square inch) stress biting down on a basically curved, hard surface, like a hard nutshell. The force applied, in pounds, is however quite a bit less than l,000 pounds.

Stress is defined as the force applied divided by the area of contact. Thus, ball-point pens must have very strong and hard little balls, since the stress may be quite high. Round steel wheels rolling on steel rails experience very high stresses, tens of thousands of pounds per square inch.

Using Frank's analogy, a Thumbtack has a point diameter of, say 1/100 of an inch, or 1/10,000 of a square inch.

Pressing a thumbtack into a hard surface may require the force of 100 pounds, exerting the pressure on the point of the thumbtack to One Million pounds per square inch!
