I am Diana and I live in Kentucky. I'm an avid reader and traveler. I'm also really into crochet. I am happiest when I am doing one of those three things. I love to create things with crochet that make people smile. I also really enjoy visiting libraries and the birthplaces of famous authors. Hoping to meet some other people here who would like to chat and make friends. Maybe eventually meet up.
Howdy doody, @Diana Kristof ! Welcome to the forum and I hope you'll enjoy your time with us! I will look forward to hearing your thoughts on all kinds of wonderful topics, both serious and strictly for fun! Oh yeah, and most of us don't bite.
Welcome to the forum, @Diana Kristof ! I also enjoy most of the same things as you listed, reading, traveling (although not so much able to do that anymore, still would like to do it), and knitting and crocheting. We hve a section for hobbies, where some of us have talked about our projects, and I think that @Julie Stewart even posted pictures of her tea cozeys, and even one for an egg ! We have a section for things we are reading, and several places where you can talk about your travels, and historical trips. I am in Alabama, so not so far away from Kentucky.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I really appreciate the pointers, Yvonne. I will definitely have to check out those sections!
Hello @Diana Kristof, Sounds like you are going to fit right in. I love to read, and I've traveled to most of our great states. I've always been into arts and crafts, and right now I'm weaving on 48" ridged heddle loom. I'm making 4x6 lap rugs for the veterans that live permanently at our local VA. I hope to see some of your work soon. I live NE of Houston, Texas. '
@Diana Kristof Greetings! My wife and I visited the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Mansfield, MO, during the time we lived there. Here is a pic of her house there: She, of course, wrote the series of books entitled, "Little House on the Prairie." Frank
Welcome to the forum, Diane. I crocheted when I was in my 20's but only made afghans. I like to travel also but seems lately I haven't done as much. I was an avid reader when I was about your age and could read book after book but that's also kind of a lost interest lately. Have lots if books waiting for me to read them but can't seem to get into them. I've also never been to Kentucky, closest I've come is Illinois. Haven't visited any authors homes either. Hmmmm, I'm curious to see what else we don't have in common. just kidding and hoping to read some of your posts and maybe I'll find we do share a like.
@Frank Sanoica - I love 'Little house on the prairie' - thanks for that picture, is it the house she moved to when married ............?
