This morning I worked from home got quite a lot of work done surprisingly in a short time , and this afternoon I spoke with my GP on the phone about current meds that I'm on and got that all sorted out for the foreseeable future until I get to see the specialists in the New Year. The this evening I had to drive to the hospital (fortunately only a few miles away because it was dark and raining, and rush hour traffic)...and have a new MRI scan done on the herniated discs in my back.... Just after I got back home Daughter took time out from her very busy schedule and rang from Southern Spain to see how it all went...so I had a bit of a natter with her for a few minutes bless her . Bit of an eclectic day really...and now it's racing towards 8.30pm...so I'm gonna just chill out on the PC..watch a little TV maybe...and then early bed ready for a 5.30am alarm call in the morning.. How was Your day..?
Hi Holly, I'm in stand by mode. My 27 y/o granddaughter called her mother, (my step-daughter), yesterday, and yelled, "come get us". She and her husband broke up, and of course the drama is high. So if nothing changes I'll be driving the '16 KIA Sorento, (the loaner the dealership put me in when my Sportage caught fire), with my daughter to Phoenix, AZ tomorrow, to get my granddaughter and her 5 and 7 y/o sons. The Creator does work in mysterious ways. My Sportage wouldn't have been big enough. So my friends, pray for a little healing for my great-grandsons on this most sad Christmas for them. They will be stuck in a car with two old ladies, their mother, one cat, one dog, and no Daddy. I'm hoping to be back sometime this weekend.
Oh Good Luck Ina.....Sportage and grandma to the rescue... !! In all seriousness, I hope everything goes smoothly and you all stay safe!
Ina, you're a saint but that's the problem with women during initial marital break-ups….they end up leaving instead of the guy and walk away with nothing, homeless, penniless, car-less and with all the kids. Why can't they say "Get Out!" and have the man be the one to leave and struggle with finding a place to live and something to drive and having to move to another state??
Dear Ina, you are there for your family and they are so lucky to have you! I feel sad for the kids but I know that your rescue will mean a great deal to them. God will surely bless you!
After work last night I went to sleep almost immediately and woke up at 3:00 am, forced myself back to sleep until 6:00 am. I tried to wrap a few gifts this morning but my arthritis today made it tough. I hadn't realized how the Prednisone I'd been on for some time for another (resolved) problem had masked my worsening arthritis symptoms until recently, once it totally left my body after I was off it. Wow. It's so mild here in CT for this time of year, but cloudy and rainy the past 2 days. I'm spoiled now so when it does snow I'll be cranky when it's time to walk doggie. Holly I'm hoping your meds give you pain relief!
Just saw this thread....I feel everyone's pain wether physical or emotional. I'm more active here which causes me more pain. For some reason my shoulder has been killing me the past few days, certainly dampens my spirits. I go to bed later here but still wake up early so I'm lacking in my usual 8 hrs sleep too. It's all bah humbug lately for me the #1 Fan of Christmas.
Oh dear oh Dear..I've come here for a good Old Moan. It's Bank Holiday here, which means almost everyone is off work for the day...Banks and Post offices are closed...and shops, and stores were generally only opening Sunday hours which is 10 till 4pm. Me?...in at 7.30am ...and not finished 'till 6pm...and not once did I get a chance to sit down even for 5 minutes today..and no lunch break either!! It was supposed to be my day off today..but I got a distress call on Saturday, could I go in today ..so against my better judgement I agreed....!! Suffice it to say I wish I'd stayed at home and just let certain people extricate themselves out of Jams and dire situations of their own making...no thanks, no appreciation for me getting them out of a big holy Mess , and in actual fact still them trying to create even more problems from the sidelines... ....I really don't know why I bother!! There...that's off my chest!!... ...on with my evening.
