The sun was shining, so I took the opportunity to plant a Japanese Quince out of a tub and into a permanent place in the garden. I dug the hole for the bush and that's where I uncovered a horseshoe. I always remember an aunt many years ago saying that a horseshoe nailed on the back door of the house brought good luck. Not that I'm superstitious, but the horseshoe has now got a new home on my back door, and the Quince is now in it's new location. Do you think it's a load of codswollop, or do you go along with the horseshoe story?
Be sure the horseshoe is hanging with the open side up. It's bad luck to hang it with the open side down. It let's the good luck run out.
I had a Welsh pen pal many years ago, and she sent me a horseshoe to hang above my bedroom door. I wonder what that means?
I suppose that I was lucky that it wasn't still connected to the horse, I'd never of lifted it up to my door.
I wasn't going to be cheeky enough to ask for that level of detail, but had an air freshener recommendation at the ready just in case.
