I live in a small house. Everything has a place. It is a small two bedroom and one bedroom has been converted into a office. It is difficult to misplace anything yet I have lost my cane. Have looked every
where. My roommate has looked. I have searched the house several times, looked in the garage to
no avail. Looked under the bed, under and behind the couch, behind my desk. I simply have no idea
where it could be. It is not an expensive cane. I bought it thirty, forty years ago while out riding my
motorcycle. I stopped at a garage sale. Gave four bucks for it. Didn’t use it until years after I retired.
You can buy one now like it for under ten dollars. The rubber tip on it had become hard and unyielding
so I replaced the tip. It is a good inexpensive cane. But where is it?

Well, if you're anything like me, Bill... check the refrigerator!! :D:D

Hope you find it soon; stuff like that is so aggravating. (Nice to see the "Marlboro Man" avatar again.)

I guarantee it will be at the last place you look.

I have found in the past from having to clean behind renters that whichever closet the circuit breaker box is in, is generally where things seem to get forgotten.

Maybe it fell down behind something.

As my father would say did you check the toilet tank. It must be there because you checked every where else

This thread reminds me of a man I worked with. He had one of those canes that has 3 feet on the bottom and stands up all by itself.

We all went to lunch at MacDonald's one day and when we got back he couldn't find his cane anywhere in the car. So we drove back to McD's and there was the cane standing in the middle of the parking lot. It looked so funny there all by itself. We got a good laugh out of it.

@Bill Boggs: .. Bill, did you find it yet?

Bill, when I misplace something, I think back to the last time I remember using it. So, when and where do you last remember using it?

That is great. It happens to someone else. Mine is the color of all of my woodwork so it blends in to the cupboards under the counter and door jambs. but I loose it mostly when I am feeling better and can walk away. The last time it took the most time to find, it was ON my workbench in the basement. Which means I actually climbed the stairs without it! just used the hand rail.
Good luck finding yours. Mine is the same age and price and I LOVE it. I use it to pull down a rare cheese at Festival foods. I had to use it to clock an attacking rooster....

I don't use one in the condo. I keep one in the stand that is right by the front door that I sometimes use to go to the mailbox. I keep the best one in the car and use it when I go to a store. Once in the store I lean on the shopping cart and the cane just rides along.
I have one that has a folding camp stool attached which is good for traveling.

Maybe y'all should tie some colorful ribbons to your canes, or attach one of those "key finder" things to them. :D

I kept misplacing my reading glasses and having to buy another pair. Then I started finding them. I have five now.

That's the most certain way to find a lost item...buy a replacement.
