In the national election, the Italian nationalist right-wing coalition has won control of both houses of the Italian parliament. They ran on anti-abortion, anti-immigration issues, as well as a pro-family platform. Another defeat for the controllers in Brussels.

About time. That pseudo communist regime was anything but stable. Let's hope their court system straightens itself out for the sake of all Italians and visitors to that country. Its judges were just totally incompetent since WWII.

It seems that much of Europe is fed up with the immigration, and perhaps the Ukrainian refugees sapping all their resources. Once Victor Orban in Hungary stood up to the EU, others are now getting the courage to do so. A bit of that is being felt here as well as the British government representative stood up against and embarrassed the ultra-Woke "dumbest man on television Don Lemon; more people are not afraid to express their opinions and are not being shouted down by the Left. EU spokesperson threatened to punish the Italian people if they moved to the Right. We'll see. It looks like Brussels is suffering a rebellion that began with Brexit.

As you alluded to, the controllers in Brussels said they have "rules" they could invoke if this happened. That's a funny way for a Free-Trade Zone commission to talk, huh? I mean, we're just talking about tariffs & stuff...right???

I didn't hear any explanation, but it sounded as though they could punish Italy for voting the "wrong way". Maybe @Tom Galty would have an idea what was being talked about. They have been trying to punish Hungary for some time now, but they just keep electing Orban nonetheless. The EU is NOT a democracy--more of a dictatorship of the elite; kind of an aristocracy similar to what they want here.
