Last Roses Of Summer

I picked my last roses of summer today.





@Ken Anderson , I tried to find @Joe Riley 's last rose of summer and I couldn't find it. You can merge this with his if you want to.

OK, one more rose of summer. Or rather, a rose of winter.



This one has a little visitor.

 

Are you still getting wasps at this time of year Shirley?..thankfully it's too cold here now for ours...

 

No, it's honey bee, @Holly Saunders. I hope they find their hives tomorrow. It's going to be freezing here the next few days. Which probably means no more roses until spring.

 

yes our roses have all died off around the front door and trellis, won't see them again until spring either

 

Fortunately, my camellia bush is about to bloom. That blooms pert near all winter.

That's sad, @Don Alaska . But I'm sure you have other things that make up for not having roses in December.

 

Just took this pic a few minutes ago when I came home from Curves...still doing okay.

 

That little weather beaten cherub has been sitting there for the 13 years that little teacup rose was planted on the 1 year anniversary of my husband's death. That is also my best Rose bush...others have died or don't do as well.

There's a yellow one at the other end but although it has a few flowers, it's nothing like this one.

I'll take a pic when I take my garbage cans out later today.

I should also cut some roses to bring in, my Gardner will be cutting it back soon ..he does every winter.

 

Thirteen years? Take the little guy inside and warm him up.

 

@Chrissy Cross , I have an angel almost exactly like that one. He's an inside angel, though.
