This was a pretty good read this a.m. I was so frustrated with "not" being able to find products Made in America, or atleast NOT made in China. I admit the main reason, before I read the article was the poor quality of Made in China. I imagine the Communist Party doesn't provide the tools their people need to make good quality, and abuse their people on top of that It's not a surprise they are doing this, but I'd chosen to ignore it, or atleast just didn't think about what I had heard in the past. So, I found this article and pretty relieved I may not have to go broke buying from the US or other countries besides China, but if it helps bring the communist party down, what a bonus that would be. Anyway, this article is not long, so maybe take a peak and see what you might be glad to know: https://medium.com/@jessefrankdineen/4-simple-tools-to-avoid-made-in-china-bbd2c12448bf
Several years ago, I went to a shop of kitchen gadgets, looking for an actual stainless steel whisk not made in china. Stainless steel products from there often shed their shiny silver coating after a while. When I could not find one, I asked the clerk if there was anything in the entire store NOT made in china. She said, no. I have found many things in thrift shops from other places but if there is no mark, I don't buy as they often came with a sticker saying "Not for use with food"
No kidding, something for food recommended not to use with food!! It doesn't, or shouldn't surprise me
I have noticed in the last year or so that Walmart has more Made in America things. They may cost a little more than China made things but I always buy them. They don't cost that much more. I didn't know that about Amazon. I'll start doing that.
I bought a pair of jeans from Cato recently. The brand I was wearing was made in China, So I tried on a new pair same brand same size- too big. Got a size smaller ,little big but would work- Wrong. They just kept expanding to the point of trying to fall off as I walked, these were made in Bangdelish . Took them back for refund. Irritating
Yes, finding out I just need to look a little harder at Amazon and Walmart, which are the only 2 ways that I shop for some items because of my very, small town.
I hadn't heard of Cato brand. I'm kind of wondering where Costco gets their clothing so I'll look that up today.
Cato is store and the china and Bangdelish mfg are owned by them. So they said . I will try and find brand name for you
I don't trust their clothing after your story though Hedi I was just curious about it. I think I've bought things from Taiwan, India, and there's another but I can't think of it offhand
in their defense have shopped there for years. never had any problems with the clothes, this was first time
Ok @Hedi Mitchell I'll check them our, I shouldn't assume things, trying to break the habit Thanks much, I'll be on again after I run some errands, Denise PS I also started looking a 2nd hand stores online, I'd forgotten they actually have them. Might be of some use so will try and see what I can't find and share today
