My facility is always offering incentives to refer potential residents to move here. A free months rent for me if they sign on for at least 90 days. Free lunches and dinners if prospect comes for a tour. The aging population is growing fast and represents huge profit potential. With some residents dying and others going on to Hospice Care or moving in with family, keeping apartments rented to pay the overhead is a continual effort.

Just type ASSISTED LIVING for a GOOGLE SEARCH and look at what you get.

I just read that the average national rate of pay for health care workers in Assisted Living facilities is $12.50 per hour. This would be the workers that make your bed, wash & change linens, wash and dry residents clothing, transport residents in walkers, clean apartments. Pay rates are higher for those with specialized duties like dispensing medicine, taking and recording vitals. food preparation and serving.

Hmmm. I guess that means the workers will never have the opportunity to live there, based on their meager compensation.

Apparently it's a second job for many.
