Inspired by the "it's not easy being orange" thread, I thought I would start a blue one, it's my favourite colour and is so versatile, we have blues music, Picasso’s blue period, blue movies, blue moods and much more.

I often dress in blue colours, my garden/yard is full of blue flowers and I have blue paintings in my bathroom.

Some of my favourite movies are

    “Three Colours Blue”
    “Betty Blue” and “Blue Valentine”

    Some of my favourite flowers

What are your thoughts and feelings about the colour blue?

Your second flower picture shows a woodland filled with bluebells. This sight is unique to the British Isles because bluebells do not grow naturally in profusion in any other country. I love to see them appear each springtime in local English woodlands.

I like the colour too and find it soothing, particularly in a clear sky and when a blue sky is reflected by water in the landscape.

Blue is fine with me, with certain exceptions. Chelsea Football Club and the Conservative Party spring readily to mind.

Can't speak for Chelsea football club Tom but I agree the "C" party gives blue a bad reputation

(note to self: must not turn this into a political thread)

LAVENDER BLUE BLUE DILLY DILLY by Robin Spielberg
Here are beautiful photos with relaxing music. It's a rare video as I had to wade through numerous Cinderella clips and children's recitals to find it for you. Turn up your sound. I saw this version a long time ago and have never forgotten it. When I saw this thread, I had to share it:

I have just remembered a film I was impressed with from the 1960's called "A Patch of Blue"

When I first discovered the song I posted above I was making Lavender Blue Mojitos with Mint. Here's the recipe and a picture of it:
    Lavender Blue Mint Mojito
    (makes 2)

Fill iced glass with crushed ice.
    Add:
    3 oz Light Rum
    3 oz Club Soda
1 oz Rose(or lavender)-infused Simple Syrup (recipe below)
3-5 Mint leaves muddled with the syrup
    Juice from 2 Fresh Limes
    2 mint sprigs (for garnish)
    Fresh lavender blossoms (for garnish)
Lavender Sugar (for glass rims - recipe below)

    • Combine the white Rum, Club Soda, Rose or Lavender-infused simple syrup, and lime juice. Dip rim of glass in Lavender Sugar (recipe below)
    • Pour into glasses and top off with more ice and sparking or soda water
    • Garnish with mint sprig and fresh lavender blossoms
    • wear Flip Flops & a Sarong (or if you're a guy wear white shorts & a shirtless tan)
    • Sip and hum "Lavender Blue" by Robin Spielberg with your eyes closed

    Lavender Blue Sugar
    1 Cup granulated sugar
1 small Vanilla Bean cut in half lengthwise and then cut into teensy pieces
1 TBsp dried culinary Lavender Buds

    Lavender-infused Simple Syrup
Combine 1 Cup of granulated sugar with 1 Cup of water and boil until sugar is melted...about 3 minutes. Add culinary Rose (or Lavender Blossoms) to the mixture and let it steep for 10 or 15 minutes...then remove the blossoms.

Sounds lovely Lara though I think the sarong would suit me better than shorts and shirtless, I don't want to frighten the locals lol
It sounds a tad more healthy than the kefir with added chocolate Bailey's I am imbibing at the moment

haha….didn't think you'd actually read all of that recipe. But you surprised me. And you cheated…your drink is not blue.
    Here's a little something I had in my files….

The Hidden Beach - Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
This secluded spot was formed from volcanic activity (or rumored a deliberate bombing). Playa Del Amor, more commonly known as the Hidden Beach, is a structure of one of the Marieta Islands, located west of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, at the mouth of Banderas Bay.

Yes impressive and very unusual,I haven't been to Mexico but it is somewhere on our list of countries to visit. ......................and yes when they produce a blue variant of Bailey's I will toe the blue line.
By the way going back to the orange thread I have the pic you are using on your avatar in a folder to post sometime, so you must have access to my mind or my desktop lol
