I used to enjoy taking photos with film cameras. I'm trying out my little ELPHis on close-ups on my desk. It only has 8 mp. It was well used when given to me ten tears ago so I don't know how old it is.
Why do all of the roses looked wilted/dead? Just to let you know, Bill, from a person (me) who has taken a LOT of photos since wife and I have been married, this camera is too old.
@Bill Boggs I too have an Elph, but I only bought it last year. I got it because I wanted a small camera that I could carry in my pocket, while my wife used her phone. Well, that has caused a problem. My lady discovered that she likes to use the camera better than the phone to take photos, as it takes better quality than her phone, and has an easy-to-use optical zoom as well as a great wide angle capability, so she has pretty much appropriated my phone for her use when we travel. I guess I will have to buy another.
Thanks @Nancy Hart and @Gloria Mitchell. @Cody Fousnaugh These were yellow roses with red and pink rims. They are dried, dead roses. Most lost their red and pink color on their rims when they died. My wife makes cards using dried leaves and flowers. These were above the sink on the window sill. All I could find to photograph except maybe a needle or thimble from my sewing kit. You're right , the camera is old and is only eight mega pixels. and i would love to have a better camera but maybe in the next life. What camera do you use to take photos? I look on line and in photo magazines and am envious of some of the new cameras. Thanks for yojur observations. @Don Alaska How many pixels does your Elph have. The one I have originally came in three colors, silver, blue, and brown. I have the brown one. That's what I was tryingout on my camera, the zoom feature. I tried it on manuel, experimented a while and the results were mnot good. It is good for a small camera especially in low light. I don't have a phone that will take pictures but I have two iPads and can not take a decent picture with either of them. Thanks for your comment.
Bill, our camera is fairly new and is a Canon Power Shot SX530 HS Digital. We had a different digital, but the rear screen went out, so I gave it to a photography school. It still had a viewfinder, of which the new camera don't. We've also had an Olympus digital that we bought from winnings I got from a slot machine in 2001. I have taken numerous pictures at rodeos, wildlife, mountain scenery and many other things. I also do my own processing and save all photos to usb's.
My Elph is 20 megapixels, @Bill Boggs. Here is a link: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/canon-...digital-camera-silver/4866804.p?skuId=4866804
Yes, thanks, yours is newer; mine is a power shot SD1100 IS digital ELPH and only 8 megapixels. The close up abilities seems to be it's best feature. The only place mine for sale is on eBay. Thanks for following up on this.
@Don Alaska we recently got the same camera and like it a lot. Order 2 extra batteries and 2 32gb SD cards from Amazon. I don't want to worry about running out of battery or memory for our trip to Orlando. My phone takes good pictures, but it's an older iphone with very little memory and no way to change the battery. The Canon is a very nice, pocket friendly camera.
I suppose what I'd like in a camera is impossible. A 4X5 or a 120 capability in a pocket camera and a microscopic capability in the close-up feature.
@Cody Fousnaugh, You must be pretty good to do all you do, Cody. Would love to see some f yoiur work. It was my hobby for over ten years.
Come weather coming on I put out a couple of bird feeders. The squirrels seem more interested than the birds or maybe the squirrels scare the birds away. I scattered some bird seed on the ground at the base of the poles holding the feeders, and now a couple of doves and a squirrel are having their dinner. I look out now and see Mr and Mrs Red Birds out my window. She's on the feeder and he is on the ground. She is racking birdseed out of the feeder trey to him on the ground. A lone dove is also out feeding.
