As of 2:30 July 30 2020 .The satellite photos shows the tropical storm Isaias over my head. We have had rain off and on not much so far. The weather channel says we are going to get 3 inches but so far did not get enough to fill by drinking water tank. We have had a two year drought and hoping it will end with this storm. The other part of the island is getting the water we need.

In Southern California's Mojave High Desert, we're famous for having very little rain.

Rain? Yes, please. Lots of. No fun living in a desert that has developed due to climate change. I call it Sahelian zone 2.0.

We've been dry in the mid-Atlantic. I don't know how far shy of normal rainfall we are.

There have been afternoon storms the past week, but we're getting 5 hours steady rain today wiht a coupe of solid days predicted for next week.

We've had less rain this summer than we usually do, I think. At times, we've gone as long as four days without rain. Whenever we need it, all that I have to do is spend an hour watering things. Sure enough, the rain will come down.

We've been getting tons of rain this month in Houston, but August is historically hot and dry. So we'll see how it goes.

Did you get any of the rain from the storm, @Martin Alonzo ?

    "Yesterday we had some rain,
But all in all I can't complain.
Was it dusty on the train?
    P.S. I love you."

Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
    It never rains in California
But girl, don't they warn ya?
    It pours, man, it pours

We finally got some rain on they back side of the storm. It caused some damage here but the rest of the country got hit a lot harder our electricity was out for two days and the internet was out for two and a half days we just got it back. Floods in different parts of the country but here on the north coast the draining ditches did not even fill up. They claim the storm when over our heads and now headed for Florida as a hurricane.

We have been dry and hot all of July, but tomorrow they predict some downpours. I have mixed feelings about that because it just gets the grass in a growing mood and I have to cut it.

    Round two
we have another tropical storm to hit here to night the wind will be from 40 - 60 mph so I might lose some more trees and internet and electricity so if I am not on the board it is OK. We are starting to get off an on showers now love it we need the rain. It will pass just south of me hitting the second largest city Santiago I pray for them. Most cities are not as prepared as the countryside. Just bought 10 gallons of gasoline for the generator and bought more time on my phone. getting ready to fill all my drinking water tanks.

This seems to have been a dry summer in most places. We've had less rain here in Maine than we usually do.
