Largest net loser of population, 277 people average PER DAY! Double last year. L.A. and Chicago next

This seems to indicate there is a new exodus of population from certain areas of the country. During the fuels crises, it was blamed mainly on movement to warmer climate, South and Southwest. I saw this quite vividly in the 1970s.

The repercussions are manifold. Chicago, and all of Illinois, faces huge deficits in the municipal worker's pension funds, shortfall numbers in the billions of dollars. The answer, of course, is higher taxes. So, folks leave, bringing expected new tax revenues down. People who stay face paying a much greater part of their incomes as taxes, and must curtail spending. Curtailing spending means less production of consumer products resulting in more production workers out of work, unable to pay taxes or spend.

The snowball gets slowly bigger and bigger, until........cities like Detroit lose a large portion of their population. Detroit went from 1.2 million to 700,000 in under 10 years. Obama Administration "bailed out" both GM And Chrysler, amidst furious outcry against our government going into the "ownership" of capital businesses. Like, Socialism?

    What would your solutions be?

It costs a fortune to live there, and why would anyone want to?

Are they using the term "international migrants" as code? I think I read that you can get fined for saying "illegal immigrant" in NY now. What a great place, huh?

Oh, here's the info... DUMB STUFF IN NY

Its sad in a way, but the same thing happened here in London, all of us originals have moved out
one reason - too expensive another reason, we were being pushed out by upper classes or different classes.
Wanting to stick together, a lot of Londoners moved to Essex which is now a London of sorts, at least they're
    together.

    @Beth Gallagher

"Violators can be punished with exorbitant and punitive fines—up to $250,000 per offense.

In other words, the city will now censor and penalize anyone for using the correct legal term that has been used in both federal immigration law and numerous court decisions, including by the Supreme Court."

Small wonder that folks are leaving in droves. Their lost tax revenue will be replaced by ridiculous fines imposed for complying with federal law. This is when sub-governments overstep their "authority".

I'd love to see someone challenge that "law" in the Supreme Court. I just want to know WTF happened to my right to free speech. New York can STUFF IT, said the Texas loudmouth. :D

We out West must exercise caution, however, regarding more folks migrating here: Water crisis may be looming. Now, if we solved the problem of thousands of Mexicans slipping in......

Perhaps some of the southern states would be willing to ship you guys extra water if you take the New Yorkers under your wings. :D
There are a lot of crime problems in Miami due to immigration, but over all, Mexicans don't seem to be a problem at all in most areas. They work hard and usually just want to better themselves. On Fridays, WalMart has a long line of them sending money home to their family members left behind and I think it's really admirable. Sure, there are some drug and prostitution issues, but those are issues in ALL races.

I do realize the western states have a whole different problem though. You guys seem to catch the worst of the worst out there. I totally agree with stopping the borders from bleeding illegal immigrants.
