I just watched the whole parole board meeting with OJ simpson where he argued for his parole date to be agreed for October of this year 2017... and after listening to him and his supporter who had been his victim... after only a 30 minute deliberation they returned with a 100 % agreement to grant his Parole despite the fact that he hadn't abided with a couple of things they'd asked him to comply with at his last parole hearing in 2013..eg, attend AA meetings....but however has been a model prisoner otherwise.. What's your views, do you agree with the parole board that he's done his time, and won't be a threat to society..and should be released?
I agree with the parole; it was fair. His sentence for the mess in Vegas was way too harsh - even his victim said that and he spoke on OJ's behalf. Judge Jackie Glass was trying to be famous as the one who sent OJ to prison. Her funky Swift Justice TV show flopped really quickly. I'm also sure Nancy Grace's head is exploding. I saw Fred & Kim Goldman on GMA this morning. They are still going on talk shows......we get it....they hate OJ....hope he rots in hell.....etc. etc. I respect their loss/grief, but I have no idea why George S. was even talking to them......had nothing to do with the hearing today, no matter how one tries to stretch it. But I don't see Trayvon Martin's parents (just one example) going on all the shows spewing venom at George Zimmerman. If Kim Goldman's career is victim's advocate maybe she should try to help them.....and quite a few others.
Would you feel the same about the Simpson case if OJ was a white man and Nicole was black, @Arlene Richards ? He was found guilty in Civil Court of killing her. He walked free. I can understand her family hating OJ. I can also understand your and other blacks anger at the Trayvon Martin case. What I can't understand is your anger at the Goldmans.
Agree with Shirley on this and would 'never' forgive or shut up about it He should not be released yet but serve another 10 years - he's good for nothing !
@Shirley Martin I said nothing about the Browns. And you don't have to understand me or what you perceive to be my feelings. I'm not going to address your hypotheticals. Oh, Beth Holloway (mother of Natalie) would be another victim for Kim to help, when she gets time. @Patsy Faye I said nothing about forgiveness and I don't care who you agree with.
Look at this, OJ is already creating a hassle within this forum/thread! As for me, I don't care either way. All I do know is the man will definitely have money coming in from retirement plans that the lawsuits can't touch. The Juice will be out and we'll see what happens after that.
Don't see why it should cause a problem at all - we are 'all' entitled to our view of him and we were asked for our view
I think that most of us know that he was guilty of the murder but he was found not guilty of that, so it should not have been used against him, as it was, in the sentencing he received from a separate crime. Like it or not, if we respect our system of justice, he should be considered not guilty of the murder - not by ordinary people, necessarily, but as far as the justice system goes. That being the case, his sentence was overly harsh so I think it was the right decision to parole him. He is a narcissist and a disgusting individual though, so I don't think this will be the last we hear from him.
I guess I should tread lightly on the subject, but I consider over-zealous prosecutors as being responsible for O.J., Zimmerman and Casey Anthony walking away free from homicide charges. All 3 were charged with pre-meditated homicide and in the case of Zimmerman... lesser charges were filed to support the top count. The prosecutors raised the bar far to high, imo.
Who me ? .................... No Cody, I wasn't - anyhoo, I know he was sentenced for a different matter but still feel another 10 years would have appeased the injustice that went on before and as it was a 30 year sentence, I'd settle for another 5
