So no indicator light. Do you hear any "whirring" sounds like the disk is being read? Typically as soon as a disk is inserted and the drawer closed, a little menu should pop up asking what you want to do with that disk.
"Try this" I did, and it doesn't work. "Try that" I did, and it doesn't work. "Go to this list" I did, and there's no icon to click on. "Go to that list" I did, and there's no Icon to click on. "Go to this list" I couldn't find that list. To hell with all this! I'm taking my "mystery computer" to Best Buy where I bought it and have the Geek Squad SHOW ME how to operate my disc drive! @Hal Pollner Sorry you're having so trouble with your Windows. I'm the kind of the one to ask questions, not answering them. My first was a toshiba with Windows 7. When i got my first Mac, i've never looked back. Regular cleaning, updating, online help, has been great for me.
