Come a day - come a day, I hear him say
Come a day when we shall meet again
And each come a day, we'll remember when ............ just you and me, my dear friend

Yeah, nice. I always hoped he did well. He had a reputation as a goof off when I met him, llike a talented student but bored, no incentives. I was a new sergeant. He happened to like me. I gave him responsibility. He shined.

An ordeal. You seem to handle and get through a crisis well.

Make sure you are drinking enough so you don't get dehydrated @Bill Boggs. I'm so sorry you and your wife are going through this.

We are still ill but we're coping. Last night we had the first hour of quitness since before I went in the hospital. Sweet bliss. We have a couple of problems. My wife has no teeth. She talks funny. We are both hard of hearing. If it were not so bad it would be a comedy of errors. She asks, "I like a glass of ice water." I can't hear her nor understand her if I did. Communication is more difficult and it can get frustrating for both parties. It is going to be several days before this gets much better.

I fixed her breakfast. Two pancakes and an egg, coffee, syrup, jellie. I had ebough batter left over for one pancake for myself. She ate about half hers. Mine was like rubber, unedible. Don't know how hers was.
Cooking to me is like trying to learn a foreign launguage. It can be done but not in the crisis of the moment. She is a sleep. A few moments of reprieve. I've gathered up all the house trash, including the stuff in the refridge that's outdated or I don't want to stick in a new unit. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope so. This is my third day of diarrhea. I hope that fades away.

@Bill Boggs , the diarrhea might be coming from taking the antibiotics. They destroy the good intestinal bacteria, too. Get some yogurt and eat it. Or get some probiotic capsules and take them.

Yep, any time you are on oral antibiotics, you should take probiotics. Yogurt is good, but good probiotics have a wider variety of bacteria and are usually protected in some way from the digestive juices in the stomach. The exception would be SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) brought on by long- term use of PPIs (Nexium, Prilosec, etc.) when you would be taking antibiotics to CURE the bacteria in the small intestine. Probiotics would be counterproductive then.

Prayers for your hospital trip and the tests, @Holly Saunders ! Hoping that the tests will show whatever is needed so you can get to feeling better again soon.
Is it just outpatient, or will you be in the hospital for a while ?
