I had this at a Christmas Party. It's very good, very easy, and a real popular dish. It's best assembled right before serving so the noodles remain crunchy. Leftovers taste fine, but the noodles are soft.

    Oriental Cabbage Slaw

    Slaw
    1 Bag shredded cabbage
    1 Small package sliced almonds
1 Package Ramen chicken-flavored noodles, uncooked, broken into small pieces
(reserve flavoring pouch for the dressing)
    1 Bunch scallions, sliced
    Toss together.

    Dressing
    1 Cup sugar
    ½ cup vinegar
    ¼ cup oil
    1 tsp salt
    1 dash pepper
1 Reserved Ramen chicken flavoring pouch

Put all ingredients into a saucepan.
    Cook—stirring occasionally—until thin and clear.
Cool. Pour over salad just before serving.
