Do you use services/apps/websites that motivate you to take medication or lead a healthy lifestyle? If so, can you recommend some services/apps/sites and tell me why you like them?
I don't many do use them I do have my phone alarm to go off at a certain time of day to remind to take a pill. I get busy sometimes and afraid i may forget to take. Are you feeling a bit down ? Just recently bought an indoor trampoline and wow, it sure add to my energy level and helps with moods also. I am only doing 5 minutes three times a day for now, and i really can tell a difference already. Try it you might like
I use all kinds of apps to help me monitor my health. I have an iPhone, so it has the Apple Health app, which monitors almost everything and syncs with my Apple Watch . I have a food tracking app, a sleep tracking app, a smart scales that syncs my weight with the phone app, and an activity tracker that also works with the Apple Watch. I only take my heart meds morning and night, so I don’t really need an app or reminder for that. I just have one of those pill boxes that are set up for morning/evening. What kind of app are you most interested in, @Ilya Pavlov ?
I don't think he/she's feeling down, Gloria, I think he/she is involved somehow in creating health & medical websites for our generation and is gathering data, kinda like in the thread asking about the articles & vids we like about our health. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. The requests for recommendations always ask for our reasons (...and tell me why you like them.) Even the thread he started about nostalgia and "what we encounter on the web that brings back pleasant memories." That's not a general "what triggers pleasant memories"question, it's specific to websites. It has a marketing tactic feel about it. In any event, I guess it's no big deal, if you don't mind surveys disguised as conversations. Maybe I'm wrong...
Nope, don’t need a website. The mirror is either the largest put-down or motivator I can think of. Second to that is the fact that I’m extremely competitive. A young bodybuilder told me 5 years ago that I’d never look like him and he was right. I’ll never be as young as he but with the exception of my waist, my measurements. are now better than his and I don’t even use drugs to do it.
I was thinking of some program that could generally support my longevity: tell me how to properly lead a healthy lifestyle and make me somehow observe it. It is possible to share my success with someone so that I would be ashamed to miss classes.
Rather, not quite. I am Russian and just starting to learn English. Before that, I only talked to older Russian people (just like me), but now I'm interested in finding out what people do on another continent and what English-language services, sites and applications are generally available that work better than in Russia. Unfortunately, we don't have many good services and applications, so I dive into the English-speaking environment in order to discover something new: communication and opportunities. The fact that I am from Russia - my name says it.
You certainly have an excellent grasp of English for someone who's just starting to learn. Good job. I don't use any websites or apps for motivation.
I see. I do not use apps to motivate me, but I have a couple of medications I take after dinner. My Yahoo email has an Appointments (Calendar) feature on it that can send reminder emails. So I created a "Recurring Appointment" every evening to take my meds, and have it set up to send me a reminder email every evening. Otherwise I might forget.
Wow. And all this time I imagined someone of the female persuasion wearing her Daisy Dukes who calls on you twice a day to take your meds. Again, technology beats human interaction.
Yes. That works for me. Similarly, telling a friend that I'm definitely going to do something I should do. One day at a time. I rarely back out then, unless there is a very good excuse. Did you ever try starting a daily journal?
The diary seems too simple for me. I led it in deep childhood. Sometimes I write long essays about books I've read, but this is different. Ultimately, I can't use the diary idea because of the excessive simplicity of the writing.
If you have a smartphone or tablet that uses apps, then you should be able to do a search in your App Store for health apps, which might differ, depending on what kind of phone/tablet you have. Pretty much , everything that I have in the Apple App Store should be available on google apps, or whatever place you can get apps there. If you get a fitness tracker that will sync with your phone, that will simplify things a whole lot for you. If you just have a computer and don’t use apps, then there should be some good health websites that you can use. One that a lot of people like is called “My Fitness Pal”, and with that you can track all of your activity, food, and many other things. You still have to put the information in to the website, but then it would calculate and keep track of things for you.
