If those boys say so, then it must be true. :D

I can imagine that, in other developed countries, but not so much in the US. Consider this concerning the automobile industry ...

"Warren Buffett called the American healthcare system “the tapeworm of American economic competitiveness.” In other developed countries, healthcare is not an impediment to the business model—businesses don’t have to pay for it for their employees.

In the United States, the opposite is true. Employers often pay big money to provide healthcare to their employees, decreasing the amount of capital the company has available to grow their business.

For General Motors, historically one of the United States’ largest and most influential manufacturing companies, providing health care benefits to employees tacks on an additional $1,500 to the cost of every car produced.

In Canada, the three largest American car producers—GM, Chrysler, and Ford—actually pushed to strengthen the Canadian single-payer health care system. However, unlike in Canada, companies in the United States, such as GM, have not come out in support of single-payer.

This difference likely exists due to the American political climate and the power of the healthcare industry in the United States. Many companies do not want to attract gratuitous negative attention by advocating for radical, “socialist” change. .... Companies fear private sector pushback from one of the largest U.S. economic players."
    .

This has always made sense to me, but I never understood why the US auto industry didn't push single-payer here. That last paragraph may explain it. By "American political climate," I assume that includes possibly that US citizens are so used to employer provided benefits in the past, they can't wrap their minds around any change?

I just can't bring myself to pretend I'm smart enough to analyze something like this on my own, so here's the link. ;)

Free health care come to the Dominican Republic there is free doctors and free hospitals. I have used them I had a motor cycle accident needing stitches I went to the local hospital they cleaned all the wounds and stitched up the deep cuts put on antibiotic cream and told me to go to the drugstore for pain killers and antibiotics. No insurance necessary. Now that is the hospitals which have next to now equipment and what they do have does not function all the time.
Now we do have clinics which have state of the art equipment put you will pay and your insurance if you have it will not cover all the costs.
