I see 6 on a fairly regular basis. Seems like not a week goes by that I don't see one or more.

One, once a year, for a CBC. However, I'm still a youngster.

PCP twice a year and the eye guy once a year.

I would be seeing more if I followed the advice of my PCP but I often decline his recommendations.

Just one. It used to be once a year, but recently he has started making it every 6 months. I think I'll have a talk with him about that, or else just cancel in plenty of time, and delay making a new appointment for 6 months. :p

Several and my dentist 1-2 times a week my best friend! I spent the day taking a trauma, wound care class that my doctor got me in 5 more weeks of it. I have 2 appointments in the next few weeks, I try very hard to take care of myself now.

I like your approach! Straightforward, no nonsense, disagree with the guy politely! Nice!

I gotta remember that, when the docs start "using me" too much!

I see a urologist once a year since my accident, and I go to the VA if they call, generally once or twice annually. I refuse most prescriptions unless they are for acute ills, though, so they don't like me much.

Please elaborate, if you don't mind such personal intrusion. Refusal would simply imply failing to fill them. Here, the doc faxes the scrip to a pharma of our choice. Whether we buy it or not, is then our choice. Do you refuse at the "point of sale"?

Frank, they suggest a drug and I simply say no. No script is ever sent to the pharmacy. I choose what I do, and I value that opportunity. Sometimes they will accept that I just don't take drugs unless I think there is a need. I have already said I don't accept the "cholesterol" theory. In your case, I would want the blood tests to see if there is a diagnosis. If a firm diagnosis is made, then I decide whether I believe it or not. If I believe it, i consider my options as to treatment or not. I probably have some insight that you may not, but you are a very smart guy who knows how to explore options.

I see my PCP every 4 months, my neurologist every 6 months. Orthopedic Dr. as needed. While it lasted I went to physical therapy twice a week.

Zero... The only thing I have to do -so far is take BP and every 7 days send to my heart doctor. I will on ocasssions send him
a picture of something bothering me, and tell or ask questions. I love that he does things this may, keeps expense down and stress levels
actually. I am suppose to be on several things...lol long story, but I am not. I am not a necessarily healthy person, but am still here fer now.

The only time I see a doctor is when I really believe there is something wrong that I cannot control or when it is time to appease the insurance gods.
Both my VA and civilian doctors like to have blood taken a couple times a year, which is something I really do not mind because it allows me to see where I am at.
There is no such thing as telling my VA doctor “no” because she’s been with it for around 20 years and she gets pretty cranky at times. So, I just nod my head like a good soldier and go about my way doing what I think is best from the information I have gleaned from the blood tests.

Then, there’s the civilian doctor. He’s old, highly educated and will let a person know how well educated with a tone of arrogance unlike anyone I have experienced before. Other than vitamin D-3, he doesn’t like any supplimentation in any form it comes in so.....I either do not bring the subject up or lie my rear end off which hurts because I hate to lie.

But yeah, a couple times a year for each PCP does it for me.
