Suppose you're a passenger in a Diesel-powered car, and you're in a hurry. Do you ask the driver to please "step on the oil"? Hal
Because there are distinct differences in the production of gasoline and diesel there might be a case for renaming the foot pedal used to deploy diesel fuel to the diesel /oil pedal. But, in order to prevent anyone from being offended and be PC, perhaps the pedal needs to be changed to the more inclusive name of fuel pedal. The change would also facilitate another change with the verbalized order to go faster to: step on the fuel.
Just say, "Give me some more smoke." That's like saying 'Put the Pedal to the Medal.' or Gidy up Horsey. Hal, what's the elevation of your high desert home?
Thanks, Hal. From time to time on my computer I visit my old hometown of Lubbock in west Texas. I remember it being around thirty-one hundred feet elevation. The days warm, the night's cool to cold, the people more friendly than where I live now. It's a university town, has some good golf courses, and a population of around two hundred fifty thousand people anda nicely populated Praire Dog town.
