I went into Lowe's over the weekend, and there was a full-blown Christmas display as soon as you walked in!

They had a huge Santa's Express train set, life-size lawn snowmen and elves, and all the other stuff you would expect to see set out on Black Friday in prior years.

    It's 3 months before Christmas!!!
What are they doing to us?????

I've worked retail. For the most part, I enjoyed it.
But I really hated the perversion of the seasons...and I still do.

The shopping channels on TV started in July. Of course, as overwhelmed as the courier services are these days, it's probably a good idea to do any online shopping early.

We have not been to Lowes for a while, but I remember that many stores have a mixture of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stuff, all out at the same time.
We do not really do much for Christmas shopping anyway, and try to avoid stores when it is the last minute Christmas shopping days, or the Black Friday and after-Christmas sales.
I also miss the older times, when we had three different events, and not everything packed into the stores all at once. After Thanksgiving, then we started thinking about Christmas, but not before.

In a way I can understand with COVID-19 lurching about this year. People are limiting their shopping trips to say killing two/three birds with one stone.

'I think I'll just pick up a Christmas tree while I'm shopping for a snowblower.'
