He has shamed this country by his absurd behaviour, no way should he be Mayor of London He does not represent London at all ! I - and the majority, welcome the President to the UK and I hope he knows that The sooner Khan goes - the better
Well dang Patsy - ole motor mouth here is speechless- I know nothing of UK politics.Lolo I can barley handle the crap going on over here. But wish y'all luck
Well dang Gloria - you're better off in the dark then Phew, didn't think I'd lighten up today but just heard a radio show with people ringing to complain about Khan and are in full support of Mr. Trump, feel a lot better now - I knew the support was there but nice to 'hear' it
I read an article--or at least parts of it--that related that London does not seem to be British any more. Mr. Kahn has changed the character of the place during his term according to this author. I have no idea if it is true as I have never been there, but perhaps others here can relate. I will try to find the article and post a link if I find it again. Londoners DID elect him to the post, however. Right?
It is true and what is sad is that the 'Londoners of old and their upcoming families' have moved out of London and will continue their ways and traditions in a place called Essex. Saw a programme on this and I did shed a tear as they never thought they'd leave London. So although 'Londoners' did elect him - they are not born and bred Londoners
I have voted in all elections since I was 21 Could not stand both candidates so did not vote but still fealt empty over not voting. Would have been better if I just went and spoiled my paper. Think the man is a disaster. Khan that is
I feel your frustration about voting, Tom. I have felt that way in the past few presidential elections; when the choice was the lesser of two evils.
I look forward to hearing the hour segment of the BBC daily and got an earful today and then this appeared in my inbox. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...-have-Trump-fuming-in-London?detail=emaildkre
British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt: "What I would say is for Sadiq Khan and the Labour Party to be boycotting the state visit of the President of the United States, who has been invited here not by Theresa May but by Her Majesty the Queen to celebrate a relationship that goes back centuries but just 75 years ago saw a million American servicemen on our soil land ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for our liberty, is I'm afraid, virtue-signalling of the worst kind."
I did not read the link as I can well imagine You need to take into account just 'who' these objectors are. Some of them take to the streets to object to everything A lot - are 'remainers' of the EU. A lot, are Corbyn supporters. These are not 'genuine, respectful citizens of this country'. You will have a similar crowd in the US too.
