Hi members I am new to this club. I feel lonely living all by myself . My sisters are all with the Lord now. I miss them very much and some of my friends too. I am just wondering how to make living interesting as a retired teacher for the visually handicapped children in Penang, Malaysia. Most of my visually handicapped children are now adults and I don`t know where they are. I am also in the old aged group and moving around can be a problem for me. I hope I can make friends with members in this club. New member Carina Ong
Hello Carina - hope you enjoy your time with us Are you able to do some volunteer work, if your health permits you to do this, it would be so rewarding for you @Carina Ong
Welcome from Pennsylvania. A lot of us are dealing with the same things you are, so you are not alone.
@Carina Ong No need to feel lonely you just joined a great group. That are all here to help. Stay with us and enjoy the quest into enjoying collective knowledge. We are in the same boat sailing for enlightenment.
Welcome, from northern Colorado, Carina. My wife's mom had sort of the same problem. Most of the ladies she had played cards with had passed away. Luckily, until we moved to Colorado, she had us. After we moved, she still had her other daughter, granddaughters and great-grand kids. After we moved, her and the rest of the family would drive into Las Vegas to see us for a major rodeo. We would fly in from Colorado. Even though we are in our early 70's, our interests are very different from folks we meet. It can be very, very hard for us to make friends due to those "interests".
Welcome Carina. I live in Wisconsin USA and have similar issues. Although I often think we could write a comedy about our situations as mature adults. I went to get out of my car yesterday and was holding my cane but all of a sudden could not find my car keys. I hadn't even gotten out of my car and could not find my keys! I mentioned this to my daughter and we both started looking when I realized I had them in my cane hand too. It is kind of like when you can't find your glasses anywhere until you realize they are on your head. Not alzheimers as I have always been kind of a scatterbrain. Hugs to you from another new friend. I have a small farm and have all sorts of fun (and work) with that. Finding new hobbies can be fun. Are you visually impaired? Draft saved kept popping up so I don't know how much of this will be posted or where the saved drafts went. But, WELCOME.
