We won't get any supplemental income because our Retirement Income puts us over the limit to qualify.:)

A song about someone getting (and spending unwisely) their stimulus check. My grandson (the pilot) who is on layoff due to the virus , has been spending more time around home, and this is what he wrote and sang about getting the CARES check.
It is meant to add a little humor to your day......

Just read yesterday, another stimulus will be coming out next month. But, the $600 a week add-on to UI, will be lowered to $100 or $200. Government is saying that not enough folks are going back to work, due to the $600 add-on.

That is not confirmed; they have not agreed on the final terms yet.

Ok, you're right. The final agreement of the The HEALS Act isn't done yet, but very, very close to passing. There are those that are saying to the public, "get ready for the second check". If it don't pass, America will be in really, really big trouble. That's just a fact.

Well I guess that is one way to phrase it. Perhaps if the Repubs were willing to participate in bilateral governance, it would have gotten some where.

It’s true that there should be a little more give and take but I do think spending 1 trillion sans pork is better than spending 3 trillion.
Maybe if the Dems quit concentrating so heavily on D. Trump and an election year then maybe, just maybe there might be a few more hands across the aisle.

The approval for the HEALS ACT is done yet. Congress has until August 7th to approve it. That is when their next recess is.

The House passed their version of the new stimulus back in May. The Senate has delayed acting on it until last Monday (7/27).

Both versions include a $1200 check for single individuals. The Senate version reduces the amount for dependents, but does not put an upper limit on the number, as the House does, so the Senate version would benefit large families with many dependents.

The House version includes the same $600 additional benefit to unemployment insurance. The Senate version reduces the additional benefit to $200 a week for two months through September.

There are also some differences on how to verify eligibility.

The House and Senate have to compromise.

Lindsey Graham claims nearly half of the Republicans in the Senate are going to vote against whatever the compromise is, so the bill will need Democratic support to pass the Senate, if he is correct.
