The same event is either covered differently, or sometimes, not even covered at all, depending on which news channel you are watching.
Today, President Trump signed a historic peace agreement that should have been headlines on all of the news, but CNN simply reported it as a large group and not very good social distancing, and said not a word about the peace agreement.

Same with Yahoo today; no mention of the treaty. Of course the never-ending coverage of The Kardashians and what was said on "The View" was in sharp focus, as always. Who wants to know about peace in the middle east when all the coverage of the latest viral Tic Toc is front and center.

I heard some of the interview between Wolf Blitzer and Jared Kushner after the signing and was not surprised how it went.
Did Blitzer ask some great questions that would be informative and interesting like:
What were some of the steps that were taken to broker such a monumental treaty?
What part did you play in the brokering of this treaty?
What does peace between these nations mean to the United States?
It is rumored that 2 or 3 more nations are going to follow this signing. Who are they?

Nope. Wolf Blitzer’s main focus was on social distancing between the signing parties and why weren’t they wearing masks?

Whilst FOX and a couple of other reputable news agencies answered relevant questions and praised the signing between three warring nations, CNN was busy criticizing the President for not insisting that everyone wear a mask.

Dunno. Maybe a disease that might kill one out of a thousand is more important than missiles with the factual potential to kill millions.

I get only the same news on local television. All five area broadcast stations are owned by Sinclair

TV wise, we get about the same thing because we discontinued using cable albeit we do have a roof top antenna that picks up 30 local channels.
That said, not having cable forces me to do the research which I like to do anyway.
YouTube premium has a pretty good section for current events both local and world wide.
I listen to a few stations on talk radio which gives me a cross section of news and of course, the ever present opinions.
FB has an events section which plug me into some fairly good and mostly reputable links.

All in all, even though I have to weed stuff out by going to other lengths like google, bing et.al for proof, I’m happier without cable.

Today after Biden's "speech" (rant about masks), he took some questions from the press. What a JOKE. He actually looked down, mumbled something about his "list," then read off "ABC" and the reporter's name. So only the reporter that was vetted in advance was allowed to ask a question, and I'm sure the supplied answer was fed to the teleprompter for him to read.

What a contrast to a Trump news conference where the rude, disrespectful "press" yells out questions like a bunch of crazed animals.

President Trump had a rally with Latinos For Trump, when he was in Arizona, and then Biden went to Florida and also spoke to Latino’s. Only a few people showed up for Biden; but CBS used pictures of the Trump rally and said it was Biden’s rally.
You can see people with “I love Trump” hats, flags, MAGA signs, and other obvious indications that this was not a Biden rally, but a Trump rally.
If you saw the picture of Biden waving to the empty field, that was his Florida rally.

This screenshot is from someone’s television, so it is blurry, but you can see what they are showing as real news on CBS.

I don't get cable so watch TV on the local news. But I get stations (and the news) from 3 different markets: Richmond is 50 miles away, Charlottesville is 20 miles the other direction, and Harrisonburg is 40 miles beyond Charlottesville.

It is frightening to go from one market to the next and one network to the next within each market and see they are all covering the exact same stories in the exact same order at nearly the exact same times. Even the cutsie "human interest" thing is the same. Only the weather and local sports differ.

    Yeh, it's not coordinated.

I gist read ( and listen ) a lot these days. If you know the source, the contents become more and more predictable. I've made some effort trying to get my family and friends to look at some news that's not uniformly anti-Trump. It's not much use.
The news sources, science facts, political opinion are all out there and widely available. There are sources from all over the spectrum. If a person only wants to read what he has always agreed with, what are you going to do? I want to tell them I know more than they do because I gather my news from all over but you can't tell people they're stupid.
Lately the most convincing argument I can come up with is that, with everything I've learned lately, I don't hate Trump as badly as I used to. They know my political leanings and that should surprise them.
I've said it before: the truth begins with a small 't' and must be hunted for constantly.

This is somewhat off-topic but I don't want to start a new topic elsewhere. I was hunting up some analysis of populism versus leftism. I came across this from CounterCurrents, a source I used to rely on.

The article is so couched in obscure academic definitions that it is incomprehensible to me. Reading through, I ceased to care what they were trying to say, or even if they were trying to say anything at all.

I use this as an example of my point: that much of the current discussion of what the right, far right, middle, left and far left believes and why they believe it has become muddled. People not only do not understand their opponents - they don't understand themselves.

I'm unsatisfied by the definitions of populism I find.

Defined by Webster, Populism is “A political philosophy supporting the rights and power of the people in their struggle against the privileged elite.”

Isn't that describing Communism, Socialism, Democracy movements, Republicanism, Libertarianism or even Fascism? In other words, nearly every political movement could be called populist. It doesn't have a precise enough definition. I think I'm a populist but maybe I'm not.

    https://countercurrents.org/2020/06/right-wing-populism-and-the-future-of-left-wing-politics/

Some things apropos in these lyrics:

    "The Hurt" Cat Stevens

You say you want to seek the truth, but it's hard to find
No one to help you, your friends don't have the time
So you ride around in your car. switch on the radio
You want to relate to something you once read in a book
A kind of a way to try to take a look

You say you want to learn to laugh 'cause music makes you cry
But the tears you shed are only in your eye
So you turn to any phony mouth with a tale to tell
But he's just a hoaxer don't you know, selling peace and religion
Between his jokes and his karma chewing gum

You say you want to seek the truth but you work alone
No one to help you and nobody to push you on
So you sit at home drinking your wine, television on
You wait for a miracle, cos you say one day one'll come along
(But wishful thinking, boy) any minute now You might be gone
I'd like to help you brother but that would be wrong

Why do you do this? Once again bait thrown out by a troll and you swallow hook line and sinker. What ever happened to critical thinking. A quick google search turns up the broadcast, this image did not appear.
Someone super imposed the CBS crawl across a different picture.
Please take a look and delete or correct your misinformation. Before or after Bobby puts on his knight in shining armor costume and sallies forth to defend you!

Yes, whatever DID happen to critical thinking Pete and what’s with this Knight in Shining Armor thing you have going? It’s you with the God complex with all that judging stuff you have going on.

Now, about the video. There is nothing “superimposed” on anything Pete. It’s in the narration, not the picture shown for indeed, CBS did show that video complete with what looks to be Trump Latino supporters at a Biden rally.
Now, no matter where I look, I cannot find the original video with the narration and most certainly, your link does nothing to support your stance but I have found what the problem is....not you.
Without the narration, the video stands as its own proof and even our local radio stations commented about the picture as a CBS gaffe but with narration, we find that the video was a comparative study between the two candidate’s rallies.

Here is a link that will clear the whole thing up

If you will watch the video that you just linked to, @Peter Renfro , you will see at 3:46 minutes into the video, CBS does actually show this photo of the Trump rally in Phoenix.
They were actually talking about President Trump having such great support with the Latino’s, and what they thought Biden needed to do to turn things around in his favor.
I think that what Bobby explained makes sense, that people saw the video of the Trump rally in a newscast about Biden being in Florida, and if there was no explanation , then it was misinterpreted.
It has been all over the news, and not just on conservative news, but many online and even broadcast news are talking about this. Here is a screenshot that I just took from YOUR link; so you can see that this is NOT a photoshopped picture as you declared that it was.
