True story: a lawyer trying to help settle a family member's estate said to me a couple of days ago, "You know, I'm thinking about writing a country-western song about your family." Sigh.
I tell you what. I had 5 siblings. The only one worth a damn died in Feb of 2019. Both my parents and an older brother were already dead. Blessed relief that they are gone. I have 3 siblings left. I've cut them off as best I can, but you never know when they'll decided I've "had enough time away from them" as has happened in the past. I hope I can find restraint when that happens. I hope the judicial system can smell BS, 'cause they're masters at it and that's where they're gonna end up. But the word "family" is used to cover a multitude of sins.
As the saying goes 'you can't choose yer family' If you're lucky, you will find one good member of the family, if you're very lucky you will be part of 'a loving family' Its not a done deal - its luck
@Lobelia Sackville I wonder how many C/W songs relate to family, all the elements are there for some good tearful songs to cry into a beer
