The last time I was in the checkout line I saw a tabloid that mentioned a cure for the C-virus. I didn't pick it up and read it but it made me wonder. Do you glance at those tabloids at the checkout line? What headlines caught your attention?
I haven't lately because I haven't had time. Perhaps due to self-checkouts, it seems I am never behind more than one other shopper, and by the time I have placed what I am buying on the conveyor, they are checking my groceries out. So between entering my store card ID and getting my credit card out, there's no time to browse. However, it's not at all uncommon for a tabloid to school all of the mainstream media on news that is later found to be true, probably because of the fact that they are more willing to deal with the lawsuits. There's also a lot of crazy stuff, though.
It's interesting though people will leave newspapers, Wall Street Journals, magazines in public places but I never see a tabloid left behind.
If the self-check out area is full, with a line, we will go thru a regular check-out. Take a glance at the tabloids, but never buy one. It can be truly hilarious what is on the front, especially when false information is there. The National Enquirer has been sued a number of times for false info.
I heard this morning via the radio that a vaccine is on the horizon, hope there will be more news on this tomorrow
If they have a vaccine, I am surely not going to get it. I'll wait and see what happens to the first round of test subjects.
I do sometimes pick one up to glance at while I'm waiting in line. Fascinating stuff. Who's cheating on who in Hollywood. Who just broke who's heart. The latest on Princess Diana. You know, the good stuff. By the time I'm at the register, I know all the latest scandals.
