How awful. Separating children from parents. Criminals with children should be exempt from the law.

    I better git to breedin'

Kidding aside, we sure love to carve out our heart-string exceptions. Where are the "The guy has a kid and he's doing that crap!!!" people? And you rarely see a female get the death penalty upon being convicted for the same crime that would put a man on death row.

You've heard of "take your child to work day."

This is just an expansion on that.

Maybe they should have shot the guy. It might have taught a life lesson to the child so he’ll be a better person in tomorrow’s flaky society.

I've often wondered how many kids share notes after that day and wonder why all of their fathers sit on their butts in front of a computer all day.

LOL.....When my dad had his cabinet shop, nearly every day was “take your child to work day” around my house. If there was nothing else going on more important (and few things were) I was in the shop doing just about the same things as any adult hire did.

My dad worked for G.C. Murphy's from the time he was in high school until the day he died (excepting his service during WW2.) He managed several stores, getting transferred around Pennsylvania, Indiana and finally Virginia.

I loved being in the store after closing. This was the days where they sold bulk candies, so you know where I was. The stores also had the old fashioned snack bar where they made all sorts of foods, and they had the old time soda fountains where you squirted cola/chocolate/cherry/vanilla syrup into the glass, then gave it a shot of seltzer water. Yeh, I made some weird stuff.

One of the stores had the old style in-ground doors and conveyor belts where the stuff was delivered at sidewalk level and rolled down the line to receiving, where it was then put on one of those elevators with the accordion gated front and you manually stopped the thing and tried to line it up with the floor as best you could.

Back then the stores made their own display signs, so there was a printing press of sorts with large typeset.

They also sold pets: birds, turtles, fish, and the pastel-dyed Easter chicks and ducks.

    Good times.

Criminals should be discouraged from bringing their children to work.

Ya see, that’s what’s wrong with this country! Here we have a dad teaching his son the ropes in a land where a lot of dads deny they even have a son.
Why, in a few years or so the son would have turned out to be a model prisoner.

Speaking of that, some girls would sit on the photocopy machine and get copies of their rear ends.
