A reverse engineered cartoon?...or it could have been poetic license!;)

"Albert Einstein is credited with some variation of saying that “I do not know what weapons the third war will be fought with, but the fourth war will be fought with sticks and stones.” With that in mind, it can be argued that The Flintstones is not actually the distant past, but rather a distant future after a nuclear apocalypse. Maybe it was less about cavemen, and a bit more like the original ending to Planet of The Apes. Here are ten reasons why".

It's an interesting theory and one for which the authors make a strong case, but sometimes it's possible to read a lot more into fiction than the creator intended. And in the comments on the first article, someone refers to an episode which proves this theory incorrect.

I wasn't really taking it seriously. But the person who made the comment I mentioned clearly did. :)

Wait these individuals do know this was a cartoon right, used for entertainment purposes. Come on, according the cartoon's creators Hanna/Barbara The Flintstones took place in the stone age, it was The Jetson's who were in the distant future. But for some reason someone took it upon themselves to study this further. Its fiction for entertainment purposes and a great cartoon, quit trying to analyze it just sit back and enjoy it.

I agree! I think the fun was seeing stone-age versions of our "modern" conveniences! I liked the stone slab garage door!;)

I want to watch the Flintstones so bad, right now! I'm already trying to figure out the best place to look for it. I'll probably make a whole night of it.
