Doesn't matter because if what I just read is correct, not only has he lost the Cruz supporters but now most of the moderate Republicans. I just read the republican platform and it's like a step back in time. Trump doesn't even support most of the issues, he's a moderate. I can't vote Republican if that's their platform. I'm sure I won't be the only one. Republicans just can't seem to get it right And they just insured another democratic president. They just can't seem to learn from past mistakes. If trump runs on this platform he's a hypocrit.
All the very far right issues Bible being taught in school. That's gonna open a whole big can of worms. Just google it and anything that's the very far right I don't like. I'm a moderate and thought Trump was also.
As I see it, we now have a divided country, possibly on the brink of a race war or worse. Thanks to the far left. A moderate, or middle of the road country is something like a politically correct so as not to offend anyone country. Weak, ineffective. A far right country tends to bring people together in a more united and respectful way. Plenty of jobs, opportunity etc will go a long way to stabilizing the economy. Kids need to know a little Bible history. They need to learn to respect others. They need a little discipline. So much of the country needs a reform and we need to start somewhere, IMO.
Far right will lead us into more of a race war in my opinion. Who's bible version will be taught? Too far on either side is a mistake because we are all very different. Only a moderate view can work. Trump was supposed to be a moderate. These are my opinions and I was just stating The news about the repub platform. I'm not going to argue about it on a forum that leans mostly far right. Everybody votes what they feel best for them and the country. I was giving my reasons as a Republican and why I feel the party blew it again.
I must have miss something Trump was talking about helping the veterans and nothing to do with the bible.
I don't believe that the Republicans have ever had a candidate who followed the Republican platform, and no Democrat could ever win by verbalizing their support for the Democrat platform. Candidates don't write the platform, and party platforms are usually the repository of all sorts of things that no winning candidate would ever support. I see no reason to believe that Trump won't do what he says he will do regarding VA benefits.
Yes but if he's not elected it doesn't matter what he's talking about now to a lot of moderate Republicans. He was never a sure winner and its seeming less and less so. First with the Cruz supporters hating him and now the republican platform being so far right. Of course that might play well with the Cruz supporters as most I think are tea party right. In any case it's great if Trump helps the vets But he needs to get elected first.
I agree that politically the US is a politically divided country. I don't think Trump or Hillary will make us one. Both of them are too divisive. Neither person is a good candidate for president.
I agree with you, do you know what you are going to do? I was going to vote Trump but I may just vote a split ticket and leave the prez spot empty. Maybe I'll put in Ken's name.
I haven't heard Hillary support or speak about important issues like controlling our borders, rebuilding our military and putting people back to work. Trump does. He mentioned re-opening coal mines. Then more power plants could come onto the grid, providing thousands of jobs. Controlling our borders is a common sense thing that must be done. Same for building up our military. Face it, no one respects a weak country.
I haven't heard Hillary on any issues because I'm not voting for her but I've heard Trump go back and forth on almost everything he's said. It's always changing.
I try to listen to both candidates. In 2008 I listened to Obama's speeches. I knew right then we were in for some serious crap. As far as going back and forth on issues, I do the same thing as more info becomes available. To stubbornly cling to a bad idea isn't what we want in a leader. Trump has provided jobs for thousands of people. Sure, he had a few failures. Who hasn't? He knows what to do and how to do it. Hillary, not so much.
