    So we might already be eating food made with cricket flour in it ? It said that it is used in energy bars, chips, cookies, crackers, and in flour; so that is quite a few foods that it is already being used in.
    I wonder how you can tell when a product has cricket flour in it ? Most foods have some other name/label that manufacturers use so we do not know what it actually is; so it might simply be labeled as "protein powder" or something equally non-descriptive.
    I know that people eat some insects, like ants and grasshoppers/locusts; but I have never tried eating any. I think that I would prefer to get my protein from plant-based sources than from bugs.

    What was that other show called where they had to do different stunts to win money and eating weird things was part of it?

    Some of those I couldn't watch....if I had to, I could eat a bug that was crunchy but not something that is slimy and gooey, lol.

    Unless the food is fresh...or at best frozen... you can rest assured, there are many things in there you don't wanna know about. But to eat a bug..by itself, nope...grind that sucker up, throw in some flour and sugar -make me a cookie- just like you have been doing for years. :eek:

    Do you know how many bugs are allowed to be in peanut butter? :D Not to mention corn meal. We eat bugs every day nd it doesn't hurt us...... Much. :D

    Earthworms are 100% protein. Maybe we should find a way to eat them.

  9. I don't know about peanut butter or cornmeal, but I did hear about canned peaches long ago o_O

    Years ago, a local t.v. station actually had a contest for the best recipe made with earthworms- I think the winner was earthworm bread. :eek:

    I think it's safe to say that the people who will be trying to get the rest of us to eat bugs won't be eating bugs themselves.

    @Janice Martin
    Have always heard there were established Federal limits on insect containment within foods. Limits are one thing, but to my way of thinking, it would be unusual (I hope), to actually examine various foods and find those limits reached but hopefully not exceeded.

    Well @Janice Martin that was certainly news I could have done without! Now I will probably find myself checking all those things on the list with a magnifying glass and if I find any insects, some of their parts, or the eggs I will be throwing that stuff away!

    Just kidding of course Janice. I hate lots of bugs when riding on a motorcycle and they didn't kill me so I'll just make sure I season my food bugs well before eating them. :p
