You just can't make this stuff up...nor would any sane adult want to. NYC: A black woman who supports the role the police play in her community defaced the BLM mural in front of Trump Towers on Saturday because of BLM's anti-police position. -She got arrested by the police she supports -BLM cheered as the police they hate did the job BLM wishes to defund Pretty much.
It's been crazy here in Fresno with almost daily murders and shootings. Hit & Runs with pedestrian deaths & injuries, Trains running over homeless on the tracks, knifings, brawls I have never seen it as bad as it is right now.
Actually, Lon, I done a thread in Off-Topic Discussions asking-talking about the high crime in Chicago, NYC and other big/major cities, that is happening now. It seems like a part of Chicago is a "war zone" with shooting and killings each weekend.
Nothing going on here. We have a police chief who's not very popular. Since he came here, I think less than a year ago, ten of eleven of our town police either resigned or were fired. One just won a $90,000 judgment against the town for unlawful termination and our assistant chief has filed a grievance against the town. The police chief began shouting at the assistant chief in public, calling her a bunch of names which include "stupid c---", ending in a "t", and he did that in front of a bunch of witnesses. In fact, other people filed a complaint before she did. Oddly enough, she was put on unpaid leave. He's new here, but she's been here for a long time and was the animal control officer here before that. About 500 people protested in front of the town hall a week or so ago, which was quite a crowd in a town of only a couple thousand. Unless there was something going on beyond what's apparent, I expect she'll win a judgment against the town too, but I'm having trouble understanding why the police chief is still here. He was asked to resign from his last job, as a lieutenant for a police department in Connecticut after more than one female officers of that department filed sexual harassment complaints against him. Nevertheless, and this brings this post back on-topic, I am pretty sure the police chief is pretty much the only person on our police force right now, although some shifts might be covered by part-time people. I haven't seen a cop patrolling here in a few months now, and I've mentioned that to a few people who have also not seen any police on the streets, yet we don't have much in the way of murder, shootings, or mayhem. We had a drug-related shooting a few months ago, in which the victim was the son of a woman who our police chief was dating, although I think he's been dating more than one woman. The streets are pretty quiet, as they generally are.
Aside from the racial strife when I was growing up, the small towns I've lived in on the Eastern Shore of Maryland have always been quiet. There is crime.but it's quiet crime. I do sense a heightened level of tension among people when I'm out and about and I put that down to the mask wearing and the relative lack of congenial interaction between people, who spend little time really talking to each other. I doubt civil breakdown will happen here, but if it does I have my guns. One is a single shot 12 gauge that my grandfather passed to my father and he to me. It just looks scary and would discourage intruders or trespassers.
The video concentrates on one lady but there were at least 1 or 2 more ladies doing their part. Throughout the video though, I really felt for the police because I could tell that they were pretty reluctant to do what they had to do namely, to arrest the ladies. They did their job. Now, if arresting someone has any pleasure in it at all, I’m sure though that in one way these arrests were probably one of the more sweet and sour ones that the cops had to do because NY city is a bail free city and they knew that those women would be cut free within an hour of being held at the precinct. The same laws that cover the real criminals also cover those who should never see a day in jail. “It is the same rain that falls on the righteous and the unrighteous” One other thing I’m sure of is that whether or not the cops openly said thank you, they were at the very least thinking it.
It is quiet here in small town PA. Unfortunately there is getting to be an influx of outsiders from NY and NJ who have fouled their nest so much that they decided to bring their problems here.
Here is a picture of her. She is a patriotic Christian lady, and I think that she is involved in a ministry as well. She is being supported all across America, people are donating to help her, and her ministry. On facebook and Twitter, she is a hero, and I am sure that the police also love her, even though they have to arrest her for what the mayor calls “defacing a mural”. It used to be called “painting over graffiti “ !
We seem to have about the same crime level as we always have here, although since we do not watch television, things could be happening that we do not hear about unless it is in the online news. Our Nextdoor website has not shown anything unusual, and the police kept the protestors well under control when that happened, a few weeks back. Not only is Alabama a pretty much Republican state, we also have Redstone Arsenal and other military headquarters here; so this is NOT a place that any of the rioters want to go.
Nothing happening here, unlike in Jacksonville, FL where we left. However, there is a huge population and demographics difference between here and Jacksonville. Basically, the only sirens we hear here are from local ambulance service.
In Chicago, where mayor Lori Lightfoot has refused help from the federal government to quest the shootings and other attacks, at least 14 people who were doing nothing more than attending a funeral were shot this morning. If the police are told to stand down, these cities are not going to be safe for anyone to live there anymore.
In the countryside of the DR we have not had a rise of violence. Usually death are politico based or Immigrant. Sometimes a problem starts they just load up a few truck loads of Haitian and it goes quiet again.
Now, if I was to say what you said here, I would be told that I had made a racist statement concerning Haitians.
